The Váh Cycle Route offers a leisurely ride that’s perfect for recreational cyclists and families with children alike. The route takes you through a landscape of castles, historic towns and secluded spots. Just pick a direction, hop on your bike, and go!

The Váh Cycle Route is under construction and will be a dedicated cycling path, separate from motorised traffic wherever possible. This means more safety, peace of mind and time to enjoy the views of the Váh River and the surrounding nature.
Once completed, the cycle route in the Trenčín Region will be around 100 kilometres long and will connect the region with the Trnava and Žilina regions. It is therefore gradually becoming one of the most attractive cycling routes in Slovakia.

One route, countless experiences!
As you drive, doors will open to places that you might otherwise have missed. Take a small detour and discover:
- Trenčín Castle, the region’s most prominent landmark, offering views of the entire Považie region.
- Veľká Skalka Monastery, a peaceful place with a unique atmosphere
- Dubnica Castle
- Beckov Castle, with its romantic silhouette above the Váh River.
- Čachtice Castle and Drašković Manor house, a place steeped in legend with stunning views.
- Zelená Voda is the perfect spot to rest or go for a swim.
Each section offers something different: peaceful floodplain forests, views of the hills, historic towns and pleasant places to relax.

A leisurely ride with few major climbs means you can plan shorter or full-day trips according to your preferences.

The Váh Cycling Route is one of the longest in Slovakia. Designated as Route 002, it is planned to be approximately 250 kilometres long, running from Komárno to Žilina and down to Strečno Castle.
Running mainly along levees and quiet roads, it is an ideal route for relaxed cycling, free from the stress of traffic.
