Zelená Voda – the water reservoir near the city called Nové Mesto nad Váhom is one of the region’s most popular recreational destinations. With its landscaped shores, the reservoir offers ideal conditions for summer relaxation, swimming and active leisure.

Thanks to its easy accessibility and wide range of facilities, it’s an ideal spot for families with children, athletes and visitors looking to unwind by the water.

The reservoir was formed when a gravel pit was flooded, and it has gradually become a popular summer resort. Thanks to its clean water and well-maintained surroundings, it is particularly busy during the summer months, when visitors come to swim, sunbathe, relax and enjoy festivals.

Swimming and active leisure

During the summer months, Zelená Voda is the perfect place to swim and relax. There are well-maintained beaches and grassy areas for sunbathing, as well as pleasant shaded spots. The water is ideal for recreational swimming and cooling off on hot days. The area is also ideal for active people. There are easy trails around the reservoir that are ideal for walking, running or cycling. Water sports enthusiasts will also find plenty to enjoy here, as the conditions are perfect for activities such as paddleboarding and boating.

The area around Zelená Voda is divided into several zones offering a variety of activities. On one side is the modern Beach Bar resort, which has well-maintained beaches, new sports facilities, a food court and high-quality restrooms. There is accommodation available right on the premises at the campsite, where you can pitch your own tent or park your RV. Water sports enthusiasts can rent paddleboards here or enjoy popular attractions such as the ‘water dolphins’.

On the opposite side of the reservoir lies the popular Koliba Beach with its sandy surface. It has a more natural and relaxed feel. As well as offering refreshments, it provides space for sports — you can play beach volleyball, work out in the fitness area or head out onto the water on a paddleboard or kayak.

Refreshments will be provided in the form of a wide variety of food and drinks from food zones on both sides. Visitors can enjoy snacks, summer drinks or relax in a spot with a view of the water.
