The Hviezda Cultural and Creative Centre

The Hviezda Cultural and Creative Centre in Trenčín builds on over 85 years of the city’s cultural tradition. After undergoing comprehensive renovations in 2023, the centre reopened to the public as a modern space for art, entertainment and education.

The historic functionalist architecture now provides a backdrop for contemporary cultural events and community activities that appeal to all age groups.

There is a programme with something for everyone.

In recent years, Hviezda has become a vibrant hub of cultural life in Trenčín. Its diverse and constantly evolving programme ranges from concerts and theatre performances to film screenings, discussions, workshops and contemporary art exhibitions. Every month brings new events that reflect current social issues, support local artists, and open up opportunities for international collaboration.

It is a space for education and creativity.

Educational programmes, which have returned to the building after an absence of several years, are also part of Hviezda’s new identity. These programmes focus on developing professional skills and creativity, and participants can use the professional technical equipment in the creative workshops. Hviezda also offers prestigious spaces for rent, suitable for organising cultural events, business meetings, conferences or corporate parties.

Thanks to the support of Trenčín City Council and the active involvement of the local community, Hviezda has become a vibrant cultural hub that helps shape the city’s identity and brings new energy to public spaces. Practical information:

Barrier-free access for everyone: the KKC Hviezda building has three entrances, with the barrier-free entrance located on the left side of the building. Inside, there is a lift allowing easy movement between all floors, as well as a separate accessible restroom in the lobby.

Parking is available in the surrounding area, including on Električná, Palackého and Mládežnícka streets, as well as at the Municipal Indoor Swimming Pool, where parking is free.
