LÚČ Club

Klub Lúč is one of the oldest cultural clubs in Slovakia. Founded in 1973, it is located in the Hviezda cinema.

However, the story of Klub Lúč actually began in the late 1960s, when there was a growing need in Trenčín for a space dedicated to culture, dialogue and creativity that was independent of official structures.

Open Cultural Space

Under the umbrella of the Kolomaž civic association, Klub Lúč operates as an Open Cultural Space. More than 150 multi-genre events take place here annually, including concerts, theatre performances, discussions, exhibitions, workshops, and community and civic activities. Over the decades, the club has built a loyal audience and become an important landmark on the city’s cultural map.

Klub Lúč is more than just a building — it is a space through which people, ideas, and generations pass. Throughout its existence, spanning more than five decades, it has weathered social changes, political pressures, and cultural shifts, becoming a symbol of the continuity of independent culture in Trenčín. Even today, it remains a place where art is free, the audience feels connected, and culture has meaning.
