Archeopark Bošácka Valley

In the picturesque Bošácka dolina valley, a unique attraction is being created that will transport visitors thousands of years back in time. The Archeopark Bošácka dolina is being built on the site of a former Celtic settlement, offering a glimpse into the lives of our ancestors from prehistory to the Celtic period.

The project brings archaeology to life through practical demonstrations. Visitors will discover reconstructions of dwellings made from natural materials and learn about traditional agriculture, animal husbandry and crafts, which were once an integral part of everyday life. Experimental archaeology enables us to imagine how houses were built, tools were made and farming was carried out in the past.

The return of the aurochs

One of the site’s biggest attractions is the return of the auroch, a majestic animal that once inhabited Europe. The site is now home to one male, one female and their calf, all of whom were bred in conditions as close to nature as possible. As these animals are strong and wild, visitors must exercise respect and caution when moving in their vicinity.

Archeopark Bošácka dolina is gradually expanding and offering a fresh perspective on the region’s history. It is an ideal place for anyone who wants to experience the past first-hand in the very setting in which it took place.
