Holubyho chata

One of the oldest mountain huts in Slovakia, Holubyho Chata is located just below the summit of Veľká Javorina. Its cornerstone was laid on 8 July 1923. It offers a pleasant setting in which to relax, enjoy refreshments, and stay overnight.

If you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of a stylish restaurant, the friendly staff at mountain hut called Holubyho Chata will be delighted to welcome you. In the restaurant, you can enjoy traditional dishes such as halušky, goulash or sweet pancakes with blueberries.

Another interesting feature is the local library, which operates on a book-swap basis — you can borrow a book and bring another one on your next visit.

The exceptional Festival of the Brotherhood of Czechs and Slovaks takes place here every year at the end of July.
