Veľká Javorina
At 970 metres above sea level, Veľká Javorina is the highest peak in the White Carpathians and one of the most distinctive landmarks in the region. Located directly on the Slovak-Czech border, it has been a symbol of encounter, friendship and the shared history of both nations for over a century.
The open, grassy summit offers exceptional views — on a clear day, you can see not only the vast White Carpathian landscape, but also more distant mountain ranges. Originally, a belt of maple trees stretched beneath the meadow at the summit. The hill derives its name from these trees. The maples are long gone, having been replaced by conifers. The surrounding landscape is characterised by scattered hilltop settlements, meadows, pastures and preserved fruit trees, giving it a unique character.

Veľká Javorina is an ideal destination for hiking and cycling. There are hiking trails leading here from Stará Turá, Poriadie and Lubina. There is also a cycling trail running from Lubina through Hrnčiarové. This 9 km route has an elevation gain of 600 m.
