UrbanWalk: The City Through People’s Eyes
Discover Trenčín through the eyes of the people who live here.
Trenčín is more than its castle, historic centre and well-known tourist attractions. It is also a city of people and stories, public spaces, architecture and artistic interventions that are gradually transforming its character.
Join specially trained Trenčín 2026 volunteers for an UrbanWalk – a guided walk through Trenčín that will show you the city from a different perspective. You will discover places you may already know, but this time you will take a closer look and explore them in a broader context.
Urban Walk was created as part of the City Through People’s Eyes volunteer programme within Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture. Volunteer guides will take you to selected locations and introduce you to their stories, interesting details and transformations. Along the way, you will also learn about artistic interventions and investments in public spaces connected with the European Capital of Culture project that are gradually reshaping Trenčín.
You will see buildings, streets, public spaces, art installations and interventions through new eyes. And it is not just about listening to a guide – Urban Walk invites you to observe, ask questions, join the conversation and discover the city for yourself.
For visitors, it is an opportunity to get to know Trenčín on a deeper level and go beyond the traditional tourist experience. For locals, it is a chance to rediscover familiar streets and places from a new perspective.
Walk through Trenčín. Look around. And discover the city through the eyes of the people who shape it.
Experience Information
Dates: Saturdays in September (5, 12, 19 and 26 September) + a bonus date on Saturday, 3 October, at 10:30 am or 4:30 pm
Meeting point: Cultural and Information Centre Trenčín (KIC), Mierové námestie 9
Duration: 60-90 minutes
