Rozhľadňa IBOvka

If you’re looking for a short trip from Trenčín, IBOvka is an interesting destination. Standing on the Čechovka hill at an elevation of 387 metres above sea level, the observation tower offers unusual views of the surrounding countryside and the city itself.

Built in 2019, the tower is one of the most unique structures of its kind in Slovakia. It is 32.5 metres tall and has 10 floors, with 141 steps leading to the top. As well as its observation function, the tower is used for fire monitoring — thermal imaging cameras are installed on the top floor and monitor the surroundings 24 hours a day.

The top floor also features a room that can be rented for nature or birdwatching. As you climb the tower and explore the area, you will find several educational and informative signs offering insights into the local nature, history and points of interest.

IBO Relax is the perfect destination for families!

The complex also includes the popular IBO Relax area, which is especially popular with families with children. Here you’ll find a snack bar, gazebos, seating areas with stunning views and a sensory trail. Children will enjoy the animals on the grounds, which contribute to the pleasant atmosphere of a day out in nature.

Official fire pits are also available, so you can enjoy a barbecue or picnic during your visit. The grounds offer plenty of space to relax and host various events throughout the year.

Together with the IBO Relax complex, the IBOvka observation tower is thus an ideal destination for an easy hike, bike ride or family outing in the Trenčín area.

How to get here:

You can park your car right next to the IBO Relax snack bar, from where you can choose either the shorter (3 km) or the longer (7.4 km) route. The route from Trenčín on Bratislava Street is 5 km to the snack bar.
