Matúš Čák Sightseeing Train

Discover Trenčín in comfort and style. During the summer, the popular Matúš Čák sightseeing train offers visitors a pleasant way to see the city from a different perspective.

This is an ideal way for families with children, seniors and visitors who don’t want to walk long distances to explore the city.

The route takes you through the historic city centre and on to the Cherry Orchard before ending at the southern fortifications of Trenčín Castle. As you travel, you can enjoy fascinating views of the city and its landmarks, which will enhance your overall experience of visiting Trenčín.

Transport Schedule

The boarding station is located on Palackého Street, close to Zlatá Fatima and the M. A. Bazovský Gallery. Due to events organised as part of the Trenčín 2026 European Capital of Culture project, the train will not pass through Mierové Square this year.

During the summer season, the train runs:

  • Daily in June, July and August, from 10:00 to 19:00.
  • On weekends and public holidays in May and September, it runs from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Trips depart at regular intervals, usually on the hour.

Tickets can be purchased directly from the conductor on the train. There are 58 seats available. The train can also be booked for groups outside of these hours.
