Silvia Berecká: Spore-gasm

October at LUMó HUB will open with a window installation by Slovak designer Silvia Berecká, whose work combines traditional textile techniques with contemporary fashion and performative clothing.

In the window, she will present her collection Spore-gasm, inspired by the diverse world of fungi, their unusual shapes, textures, and vibrant colours. Through embellished knitted, woven, and crocheted textiles, the collection explores the fluidity of gender and identity, drawing inspiration from the visual world of drag culture.

Both playful and provocative, the designs use clothing as a means of self-expression, freedom, and joy. Spore-gasm also celebrates diversity and the rejection of fixed categories – much like the world of fungi from which it draws its visual imagination.
