Home » Events » Movement-Sound Performance: Dávid Somló (HU) – Glissando
Step onto the ice, put on your headphones and become part of the performance. Hungarian artist Dávid Somló brings a work to Trenčín in which the audience takes to the ice instead of taking a seat.
Glissando (a continuous glide between notes in music) is a movement and sound performance for 25 people on ice. Participants receive simple instructions through headphones and follow them as they skate, allowing the choreography to emerge almost on its own.
Music plays through 25 portable speakers, each carried by a participant. As the skaters move, the sound moves with them, creating a soundscape that is different with every performance. The interplay of movement on ice and music dispersed among the participants creates a shared experience that is both peaceful and playful.
What to expect
You will begin with a skating warm-up together, followed by the performance itself. Afterwards, you can share your impressions over light refreshments. The whole event lasts approximately one hour.
