Hockey Is Culture Too

Sport, an inseparable part of the city’s identity, will also have its place during the closing weekend of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026. On Sunday afternoon, the Pavol Demitra Ice Hockey Stadium will come alive with a vibrant hockey atmosphere and the enthusiasm of fans during a home game of Dukla Trenčín. In Trenčín, hockey is more than just a sport — it is part of the city’s history, traditions, and shared experiences that connect generations. Come and cheer on the home team, experience the energy of the stands, and celebrate the end of an exceptional cultural year in a sporting spirit as well. Because hockey is culture too!
