The project ‘Roots in Trenčín’ features a solo exhibition by Denisa Lehocká, one of Slovakia’s most renowned artists. She will create an installation in response to the specific industrial space.
Originally from Trenčín, Lehocká creates spatial installations in reaction to a given location, using commonplace and natural materials such as plaster, textiles, stones, twine and beads.
Her works function as open structures based on layering and sedimentation, metaphorically referencing time and memory. Lehocká considers the creative process, carried out in a slow, focused rhythm, to be just as important as the resulting object. Her delicate, subtle compositions offer viewers an immersive experience based on movement, sensory perception and personal interpretation.
Her works foster an intimate yet universal dialogue between space, material and viewer.
